Call for 2008 Perpetual Pavement Award Nominations
The Asphalt Pavement Alliance (APA) announces that applications are being accepted for the 2008 Perpetual Pavement Awards.
The APA instituted the Perpetual Pavement Award program in 2001. Since then, more than 50 pavements have earned this prestigious recognition. Agencies that have received multiple Perpetual Pavement Awards include California, Connecticut, Maryland, Minnesota, Mississippi, Missouri, Montana, Nebraska, New Jersey, Ohio, Oklahoma, South Carolina, Tennessee, and Texas.
This award honors the agency owners of asphalt pavements which are at least 35 years old, have never experienced a structural failure, have had overlays no more than four inches thick, and have been overlaid no more frequently than an average of thirteen years. These pavements demonstrate the principle of Perpetual Pavement design.
The application and details can be found on the Alliance’s Web site here or by calling 877-272-0077. ... Full Story
